When I tried to think of places or things to take pictures of that would match the assignment's description, I instantly thought of litter and trash that ends up on the ground instead of in the garbage can. So, here are my photos depicting the irony of the coming of spring to the amount of trash revealed once the snow has melted.

The concept behind this collection is very nice. I especially enjoy the last photograph because it really shows how scraps of trash mingled with the damp leaves. It's a very intriguing image. I also admire how you framed the photos in a way that encourages the viewer's eyes to focus on each subject, as well as the ideas behind them.
ReplyDeleteTaking this project into an environmental awareness as the main concept is very outside the box. I like your second and third photo in the series on how the white trash almost goes unnoticed against the vaster space, yet the trash's bright hue screams out your attention in the image. The trash is arranged well in all the photos, however some of the photos do seem to be a little too macro but still well done photos.
ReplyDeleteI really like your concept and it is really interesting to see what actually gets buried in the snow during the winter. The images that show more landscape with the garbage are nice because you see a more beautiful/clean landscape, and then you look closer and see the garbage. I enjoy the closeups, but it might have added to your concept if you show more of the landscape and pair that landscape with a closeup of the garbage, like a diptych with each image. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and relevant approach to this exercise! I love Courtney's suggestion of creating diptychs of a more wide angle landscape paired with a more macro/close-up show of the trash. I also tend to agree with the others that the more vast landscape images with the specklings of garbage that you notice upon closer view are the strongest. Well done!
